Develop and implement recruitment plan of action to attract qualified candidates for the position including, but not limited to:
Creating the recruitment messaging … that will be utilized to promote the position and the community.
Assist with developing/revising an up-to-date job description, including summary descriptions for the various postings, for the Executive Director position reflecting Board consensus on the essential duties and responsibilities of the position. The description should reflect expectations in terms of the knowledge, skills, abilities, minimum education and experience that will be required to be successful in the position.
Networking with state economic development officials, utilities and other “well networked” economic development professionals to identify potential qualified candidates … including economic development professionals that may not be actively seeking a new opportunity. SSG will contact all identified candidates to determine interest in the position.
Developing and placing job postings for placement on professional development organizations and other targeted websites and online sources … and, if determined necessary, developing an employment advertisement for placement in newspapers/online career sites.
Consult with, and assist the Board (and/or hiring committee) on all aspects of the recruiting, screening and interviewing process during the agreement period.
