Smart Solution Group is doing the search for a new President for Vermilion Advantage. Vermilion Advantage (VA) is the lead organization responsible for all economic development and chamber of commerce activities in Vermilion County, Illinois. VA is actively recruiting a new President/Chief Executive Officer to lead this dynamic organization which promotes industry and growth throughout the Vermilion County region with a strong commitment to building community engagement, business, and corporate connectivity, and economic vitality.
Vermilion County is located in East Central Illinois along the Illinois-Indiana border with Springfield, Illinois directly to the west and Indianapolis directly to the east. Danville is the county seat and Danville boasts a rich history and a dynamic, diverse economy. Danville knew Lincoln before they called him Mr. President. Danville is designated a Gateway City to the National Park Service’s Looking for Lincoln National Heritage Area. Danville is rich in Lincoln history with over 12 sites marking his 18 years practicing law in the community. Danville is also the industrial and retail hub of the County.
VA was created as the result of the merger of Danville Economic Development Corporation and the Danville Chamber of Commerce in 2002. VA was created, as a membership-driven organization, to be a consistent, strong voice that provides strategic leadership on critical business issues and leads economic & workforce development efforts while addressing quality of life issues that impact the retention and recruitment of workers. VA’s leadership on the pursuit of opportunities to strengthen the local economy and business environment is well -established. Vermilion County has 21 incorporated communities, each unique in size and in their community visions. Together, these individual communities make Vermilion County a strong and vibrant leader in the East Central Illinois region. The next CEO of VA will join a committed group of organizational leaders who will support and embrace the new CEO on their path to guiding Vermilion County towards this new era of growth, revitalization, and prosperity.
